House Republicans voted on Wednesday to remove Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., from leadership.
Cheney had lost support from fellow GOP leaders in recent weeks amid a public feud with former President Donald Trump.
On the way out, she said she will “do everything I can to ensure the former president never gets anywhere near the Oval Office.”
She gave a defiant speech on the House floor Tuesday warning fellow Republicans that American democracy faces a threat it has “never seen before.”
